L.L. - Contract/Xbox Game Studios
L.L. worked as a game tester for a contracted company that did work for Xbox Game Studios (the successor to Microsoft Game Studios)

What was it initially like working for the studio?
> "Honestly, at first I didn't really have much interaction with the direct team. Being contract put me in my own little bubble but when it came to sharing my experiences with the games I was testing I started to see the tensions rise."

What sort of tensions or issues do you mean?
> "It's generally really subtle, as a woman in the industry no one wants to tell you 'Hey you don't know games, this is not your field' but the layout feels almost designed to be that way, to make you fail if you aren't already part of the culture."

What were the interactions with any big names within the contract company or the studio?
> "Awkward, I really didn't feel like my voice was heard nor did my findings matter, I felt like I was just there and I didn't feel productive because of it."

How long did you last with them?
> "Until my contract was up, so one year exactly."

What was one good experience you did have?
> "Probably just trying the games that were yet to be released, other than that, nothing and I don't think I'll do it again."
