Making Change in 3 Steps
This project is built around three specific steps to get the ball rolling on making a swift and fair recovery that benefits the company, the audience, and the employees.
-
Education
-
Acknowledgment
-
Action

Each plan for overcoming the two main obstacles listed in the toolkit are built around these steps, incorporating each element to execute an informed plan of action.
Education
Being properly educated on the issues that are on the rise within the industry allows for a headstart in being able to look back and examine if any of the signs are present within your company. It’s essential that these are tackled from the start rather than later on as recovery can become much more difficult. It’s worth noting that it’s not impossible to recover from catching these issues later on, rather, it becomes increasingly difficult to shift away from such issues, especially “bro culture.”
Being informed on how these cultures spread and affect employee work/life balance as well as the overall work environment is crucial for stopping it from spreading and supporting employee growth, health, and equal opportunities.
Acknowledgement
The next step to moving forward when an issue is found is acknowledging there’s an issue and reflecting on what led to the issue and what is needed to further prevent the issue from happening again. Many business owners or management teams don’t want to think about their companies having issues that require a complete overhaul or company-wide cooperation, but acknowledging that there’s an issue is an important step at preventing further damage to not only the company's culture but to the employees as well.
Action
Being informed about the dangers of these toxic issues and acknowledging they are in your business or are possibly forming requires action immediately afterward to ensure that the business thrives and doesn’t suffer from the consequences to follow. Action can come in many forms, using the provided toolkits are a form of action when put into effect with the overall goal of sending a positive message to create a better environment for your employees. Actually putting a plan in motion and sticking to it is the key to a successful recovery when faced with critical issues such as crunching and "bro culture."
